Have you ever needed to take an object and move it convincingly across the surface of another object – and had to fight with it so it didn’t pass through the other object over the course of your animation? Glider presents a simple, flexible and powerful solution for this problem.
Glider forces any object or particle system to be constrained to the surface topology of another selected object. It doesn’t deform the geometry along the surface, rather aligns it to the surface normals of the other chosen object.
The first space warp is Object Glider, which affects only objects in your scene. This includes lights, cameras, helpers, or even other space warps.
The second space warp is Particle Glider, and it works exclusively with any build-in particle system in MAX, as well as with third party products such as Sand Blaster and Particle Studio. Particle Glider gives you the ability to have particles flow over another object’s surface or follow any 2D or 3D spline.
